Postponed by Nor’easter: The Nyack Red Bandana Memorial Tour

Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 12-3 p.m., postponed to Sunday, October 4, The Historical Society of the Nyacks, 50 Piermont Ave, Nyack Join the Historical Society of the Nyacks in commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11th with a self-guided tour exploring the Nyack places and people connected to extraordinary lives of service, courage, and community. At each stop, volunteers, firefighters, and local historians will share personal stories and memories that illuminate their extraordinary lives. The event begins with sign-in at the Historical Society of the Nyacks Museum. The tour is self-guided and is primarily accessible by car. Attendees are encouraged to explore the six locations in the order in which they appear on the map provided. Please spend as much time as you wish at each stop. The tour runs from 12-3 p.m. Sign-in begins at 11:45 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Public parking is available at each location; attendees are asked to park only in legal parking spaces. The event is free, but space is limited. Registration is required and closes Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. Register here. The tour will conclude at 3 p.m. with a special memorial and commemoration at Empire Hook & Ladder Company #1 in Upper Nyack.
